Tasting Notes
The cup opens with pronounced dark chocolate and molasses—rich, almost caramelized sweetness that coats the palate. Mid-palate, you’ll find bright cherry notes that cut through the depth, followed by toasted almond and whispers of orange zest on the finish. The body is full and creamy, but the acidity keeps everything in elegant tension. It’s a darkly roasted coffee that doesn’t sacrifice complexity for boldness.
Brew Methods
Whirling Dervish shines as espresso, where its chocolate-forward profile creates sweet, syrupy shots with minimal bitterness. It’s equally at home in drip brewers and pour-overs, where the cherry brightness becomes more pronounced. French press drinkers will appreciate the full body and molasses depth. We don’t typically recommend this for light-bodied methods like Aeropress or Chemex—it wants a brewing method that can match its richness.
